演講者簡介 : Professor Joosung Lee received his PhD from Pennsylvania State University in 2014. He is currently an Associate Professor at Sungkyunkwan University. His research interests are Microeconomics, Economic Theory, and Game Theory.
演講摘要 : We consider a multi-dimensional mechanism design problem, where a seller has an indivisible product to sell to one existing buyer (buyer 1) and one potential buyer (buyer 2). The seller is directly connected to buyer 1 but not to buyer 2, so that she can reach buyer 2 only through buyer 1's referral. Whether buyer 1 is connected to buyer 2 (and hence whether buyer 1 can refer buyer 2 to the seller) is buyer 1's private information. We study buyer's referral behaviors and fully characterize the optimal selling mechanism both for a resaleable and non-resaleable product. We further quantify the value of commitment and the value of resale-preventing technology.
