演講摘要 : Bloc voting behavior is often observed in an election. Generally speaking, a voting bloc is formed either around one single issue or a multiplicity of different issues. It is shown that, for a repeated two-party election environment characterized by a strategic voting bloc and probabilistic voters, when the bloc is single-issue focused, many “bad” equilibria can be avoided. In other words, for a single issue, a multiple-issue concerned bloc may perform less effectively than a single-issue focused one. Finally, the results also show that when a voting population becomes more diversified, policy divergence between two parties can be more significant.
