演講者簡介 : Dr. Jonathan Newton received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cambridge in 2011. He is currently a Professor of Economics at Kyoto University. His research fields lie in Evolutionary Game Theory, Collaboration, Conventions, Social Learning, and Networks.
演講摘要 : We show that, in threshold public good games, small amounts of coalitional behavior can have large spillover effects on the behavior of individuals, who become more cooperative as a consequence. This phenomenon exhibits tipping point behavior, where a small increase in coalitional behavior leads to explosive growth in the level of public goods provision. The model uses a novel combination of procedural rationality and coalitional dynamics. It is robust to both low and high information environments, in both cases giving principled and rigorous derivations of coalitional dynamics for which individual dynamics in the literature are special cases.
