演講摘要 : We study the labor supply and human capital effects of lottery winnings using administrative data in Taiwan. Winners reduce their labor market participation, leading to significant declines in cumulative work experience. This deterioration translate into lower earnings over the long run, particularly among younger individuals. Combined with a life-cycle structural model of consumption, labour supply, and human capital accumulation, we quantify the role of on-the-job experience in human capital accumulation and underscore the hidden costs of short-run labor supply reductions induced by unearned income.
