演講摘要 : We examine the effects of information disclosure on physicians' practice, using Korea's healthcare claims data. We show that physicians' antibiotic prescription rates for the upper respiratory infection disease sharply decreased once physicians’ prescription patterns were publicly disclosed. We find little evidence of changes in prescription behaviors when the same information was privately provided to individual physicians. Our heterogeneity analysis indicates that the decrease was driven by those with high prescription rates. We document little evidence of patient sorting. Our results document novel evidence that the effects of information may different by its disclosure type.
