  • 演講摘要 : We study the influences of social preferences and Kantian morality on cooperative behavior under assortative matching. Participants were randomly assigned to a control or treatment group and played cooperative games: sequential prisoner’s dilemma, trust game, and ultimatum game. In the control group, participants were paired randomly. In the treatment group, participants were paired with individuals with similar background characteristics, such as grades, college, hometown, and study habits. Our findings reveal that participants under assortative matching exhibit higher levels of cooperation than those under random matching. Structural estimation results suggest that most of these differences can be attributed to changes in social preferences (aversion to leading payoffs) rather than in Kantian morality.
