Analyzing the distribution and mobility of earnings over 2004-2020, we document the patterns and characteristics of earnings in the Taiwanese labor market. Earnings inequality steadily declined during this period, mainly due to the upsurge of the bottom 10% earnings group. The skewness and kurtosis of earnings gradually increased. We document heterogeneity in idiosyncratic earnings changes across gender and age groups. Our analysis of earnings mobility over a 10-year period indicates a common patterns of life-cycle earnings changes.
