  • 演講者簡介 : Professor Kuo earned her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Geomatics, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 2015. She is an Assistant Research Fellow of the Center for GIS, Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (RCHSS), Academia Sinica and a joint appointment Assistant Professor of the Department of Geography, National Taiwan University. Her professional interests include GIS, WebGIS, Open GIS, semantics, ontology, volunteered geographic information (VGI), social media, metadata, spatio-temporal algorithm, and GeoAI.
  • 演講摘要 : Taiwan is characterized by high convenience store density, especially in Taipei City and New Taipei City. Exploiting the strategy of the location choice of convenience stores enables us to understand the trend of urban economics and helps in economic development. In this study, we propose methods using Voronoi Diagram (VD), principal components analysis (PCA) and K-means cluster algorithms for the convenience store space partition and classification based on point of interests (POI). Nine types of classification can be observed in Taipei City and New Taipei City, that is, central business district (CBD), traffic, official agency, school, hospital, mixed residential and commercial, residential, recreation, and others. Our proposed method to identify the type of a convenience store based on a spatial unit delineated by Voronoi Diagrams is beneficial for spatial and economic analyses and provides more precise results.
