演講者簡介 : Professor Hsieh received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from National Chiao Tung University. He is currently an Associate Professor at National Taiwan University. His research expertises are online community analysis, quantified-self and lifelogging, Eye-tracking, social network analysis, digital game and society, and social simulation.
演講摘要 : By large-scale data collection methods, even user's tiny actions in online forums or special wordings in online news will be recorded. When these online texts and message are disassembled into words and aggregated to data for calculation, we can use dimensionality reduction techniques or statistical methods to extract the ideology of individuals or groups, and even observe the changes in these long-term records. The speech will introduce three working topics including marriage equality, political inclination, and national identity of Taiwanese by use of Facebook data, PTT post, and online news.
