演講摘要 : Empirical studies in economics of happiness have come under recent criticisms that question their validity. The point of contention can be traced to the fact that happiness data are ordinal but many existing empirical analyses have been ignoring some of the fundamental properties of ordinal variables. In particular, recent studies have shown most well-known empirical facts in the well-being literature in economics can be dramatically over-turned. While it is true that happiness results may be fragile due to methodological mis-uses, we show that many of the conventional wisdoms from the happiness literature are in fact empirically robust.
