演講者簡介 : Professor Rommeswinkel received his Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from University of St. Gallen at 2014. He is currently an Assistant Professor at National Taiwan University. His research fields are Behavioral Economics, Decision Theory, Freedom of Choice, Game Theory, and Social Choice.
演講摘要 : The paper provides a measure of freedom for extensive form games. The measure generalizes several measures from the opportunity set based freedom literature to situations where agents interact. This allows freedom to be measured in general economic models and derive policies which maximize the freedom instead of the welfare of agents. To illustrate this, optimal libertarian income tax progression policies are derived in a production economy with heterogeneous agents. In the optimum, tax progression is large if productivity differences across individuals are large and small if productivity shocks common to all individuals are large.
