演講者簡介 : Professor Hsu received his Ph.D. in Economics from University of Minnesota in 2008. He is currently an Assistant Professor at School of Economics, Singapore Management University. His research fields are Applied Micro Theory, International Economics, Urban and Regional Economics, and Industrial Organization.
演講摘要 : This paper develops a structural framework of international trade with variable mark-ups. Using this model, we estimate welfare gains from trade of China's entry into WTO. The welfare gains are decomposed into a productive efficiency component and allocative efficiency component, with the first component corresponds to the ACR statistic (Arkolakis, Costinot, Rodriguez-Clare 2012) and the second component captures the effects of the mark-ups.
