  • 演講摘要 : Given population vectors, a marriage distribution consists of who marries whom and who remains unmarried. This paper describes the Choo Siow (CS) marriage matching model, a behavioral model which fit any static marriage distribution. Given parameters and population vectors, the equilibrium marriage distribution exists and is unique. This model and its extension, the frictional CS model, will be used to study the impact of famine on birth cohorts in rural Sichuan on their subsequent marital behavior, the evolution of positive assortative matching by education in the US, and how the sex ratio affects the log odds of cohabitation versus marriage in the US. *Lunch boxes will be provided for attendees.
