Abstract : This paper investigates the relationship between R&D and productivity growth, while taking into account the effect of spatial spillovers. We design a formula of spatial spillover effect by using the longitude and latitude of a firm. We propose a homogeneous dynamic panel data model and several heterogeneous dynamic panel data models to consider the individual effect as well as endogenous. We also distinguish between the estimated long-run and short-run results. Our results indicate that both the R&D stock and R&D spatial spillovers positively affect productivity growth in the short-run as well as in the long-run.
