演講摘要 : This paper proposes a model of “disposable soma” to characterize the value function of a selfish gene. We prove that in a steady state, the value of a selfish gene is equal to the Euler-Lotka fitness parameter. The time preference (discount rate) is defined to be the marginal rate of substitution between resources obtained in two different time points of a human life, holding the fitness parameter constant. A unique feature of our approach is that we are able to derive analytical formula of the discount rate, and compare it with the previous results in Hansson and Stuart (1990), Rogers (1994) and Sozou and Seymour (2003).
