Dr. Jeonghyeok Kim & Dr. Till Wicker's Joint Recruitment: Full-Time Research Assistant (Bachelor's/Master's Level)
About this job:
The position involves both research and administrative responsibilities. For the research part, we expect the RA to support the PI's research tasks. Our research fields are broadly applied economics. Dr. Kim's research focuses mainly on labor economics, the economics of education, and health economics, while Dr. Wicker's research is mainly focused on development economics, behavioral economics, and labor economics. For Dr. Wicker, the research tasks would include data preparation, cleaning and statistical analysis using data collected from Randomized Controlled Trials. For Dr. Kim, the research tasks would include data preparation, cleaning and statistical analysis using Taiwan's administrative data.
Administrative responsibilities include basic translation, procurement, expense reimbursement, drafting official documents, and administrative support for research projects. Neither Dr. Kim nor Dr. Wicker speaks Chinese.
This position is particularly suitable for candidates who are interested in pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Economics or a related field abroad. Candidates with strong performance may have opportunities to receive letters of recommendation and participate in research collaborations. Applicants with backgrounds in economics, statistics, or data analysis, and experience with Stata (preferred), Python, or R, are especially encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist with academic research.
2. Handle administrative tasks related to research projects (e.g., basic Chinese-English translation, expense reimbursement).
3. Assist with other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
2. Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to effectively support research work, with a preference for candidates interested in empirical, development economics, behavioral economics, and/or labor economics.
3. Strong English communication skills preferred and basic proficiency in Stata.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday, with weekends and national holidays off. In accordance with Academia Sinica regulations, flexible working hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and flexible ending hours are from 16:20 p.m. to 18:20 p.m. (including lunch break time).
Expected start date: October 1st, 2026 (an earlier start date can be discussed)
Working location: Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica (Nangang Dist.)
Salary:
1. Bachelor's degree: NT$38,388 or above per month; Master's degree: NT$44,968 or above per month (salary may be adjusted based on education and relevant work experience).
2. Year-end bonus: 1.5 months' salary (prorated in the first year based on the employment period).
