Welcome to my homepage. I have joined the University of Macau as Distinguished Professor and Head of Department of Economics. Before that, I was Chair in Macroeconomics at the University of Liverpool. From 2016 to 2019, I served as Professor of Economics at Fudan University and a distinguished expert in the Shanghai Thousand Talents Program. I earned my postgraduate degrees in economics from the University of British Columbia and the University of Michigan. My research areas include macroeconomic theory, economic growth, innovation, and intellectual property rights. Recently, I have become interested in evolutionary economics, focusing on the evolution of human society. My research findings have been published in journals, such as the European Economic Review, International Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Economic Growth, Journal of International Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of Population Economics, Journal of Urban Economics, and the Review of Economic Dynamics.
